Iran Cultural Expedition
Iran is home to one of the world's oldest civilisations. The country's rich cultural legacy is reflected in part by its 22 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the third-largest number in Asia and eleventh-largest in the world. Owing to its geopolitical position, Iran has influenced cultures as far as Greece and Italy to the west, Russia to the north, the Arabian Peninsula to the south, and south and east Asia to the east.
There’s a huge misconception about Iran. What we see on TV could not be farther from the reality that exists in this lovely country. It is absolutely safe to visit, and the locals here are the most humble, honest and hospitable and generally greet visitors with a smile. They go out of their way to ensure that their guests are safe and happy. Its just a bad luck that Iran happens to be located in an unstable region. If you put it anywhere else on the map then outside perspectives would be different.
Since our visual story telling classes are about breaking down barriers between folks from different backgrounds and gaining real insight into the peoples and cultures, we have developed our Iran expedition in a way that it will help you change your perspectives about this beautiful country. We will be digging deep into the ancient history, trying all of the best dishes, meeting eye to eye with locals and observing their unique lifestyle as we travel and photograph across fascinating Iran. Iran is a place of great visuals, from Bazaars to nomads, landscapes to streets etc. Iranians are family oriented people which is why you can photograph families having a great time during picnics.
We have realised from our earlier tours that Iranians do care about their country's image abroad. Travelling to Iran with SNAP just makes your travel photography journey at more intimate level. Our experience and subject knowledge opens up doors to a new dimension in photography.
